Pilot Makes Alarming Statement

Posted: Updated:

"We're going down."

That's what passengers aboard a Southwest Airlines flight were told Tuesday night by the pilot.

The flight took off from Tampa and was headed for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Officials say when the plane was about 100 miles away from landing. The pilot came on the loudspeaker and said the aircraft was going down.

It took a nose dive thousands of feet in the air.

Some people onboard started texting their loved ones to say goodbye and they are now mad at the airline.

Minutes after the plane dropped, the Boeing 737 leveled out and went on to make an emergency landing at the Raleigh airport.

The FAA says they are investigating.
