H.J. Heinz Company is closing three of its plants: one in Leamington, Ontario, Canada; one in South Carolina; and one in Idaho.

The last production run is scheduled for mid 2014. Production will then shift to other existing factories in the United States and Canada.

The Leamington close will reportedly place 740 people out of work. The factory has been around for more than one hundred years, after opening in 1909. It is the second-largest Heinz plant in the world.
