Oakwood to host Bladder Health Awareness event

Posted: Updated:

During National Bladder Awareness Week (Nov. 11-15), the PFD Alliance wants to help the millions of women living with OAB and other pelvic floor disorders (PFDS) through useful tips. A national campaign, Dr. Khandwala is leading Michigan's efforts to help women with bladder health.

Available OAB treatment options, from over the counter medicines including the patch to therapies and procedures, including Botox. OAB is a pelvic floor disorder which impacts one in three women in their lifetime and is very common for women after having children. Women are usually embarrassed to talk about the PFDs that can occur - from bladder and bowel leakage to organ prolapse, due to the weight on the pelvic floor of carrying a child at some point.

A free community event to learn more about women's health will be held tonight, Friday, November 15 at Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center's Kalman Auditorium (18101 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn, MI, 4812) at 5:30 p.m.
