American Flags vandalized in south Dallas community

Posted: Updated:
DUNCANVILLE, Texas -

Vandals in Duncanville did a lot of damage to a Veterans Day Flag Display.

The flags were on display in front of City Hall, several churches and the Duncanville Police Department.  The Rotary Club sets up flags for five major patriotic holidays.  More than a thousand flags were put up for Veterans Day.  When club members went to collect them on Saturday they were shocked by what they found.

"I talked to a veteran this morning who was in tears," said Rotary Club member, Josh Fitzpatrick. "He couldn't believe that somebody would do something like this in the community of Duncanville."

The Flag Program is supported by the Duncanville Community.  Residents pay $35 a year to have the flags on display for the holidays that have been chosen.
