Arrests in Child Prostitution in Oxnard

Posted: Updated:

Two suspects were arrested at a home in the 100 block of North Harrison in Oxnard after police were tipped that a 15 year old girl was being forced into prostitution at the location.

When officers arrived they found several children and adults at the home.  They contacted the 15 year old girl, who told them that 23-year-old Graciela Vasquez had taken her to the location and began persuading her to have sexual relations with older men.  One of those men was 34 year old Rolando Ramirez, who was also at the home.

Ramirez and Vasquez were arrested and are being held at the county jail.

Ten other children were living at the home along with a woman who rents the home.  The investigation into her involvement in the alleged prostitution is still ongoing.  The children were removed from the home by child protective services.

If anyone has more information on this incident you are encouraged to contact detective James Langford at 805-385-7636.
