Greater Chicago Food Depository fights hunger with 1 City, 1 Food Drive

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

It's that time of year – FOX 32 News has partnered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to help fight hunger in Chicago and help those in need.

The food depository's 1 City, 1 Food Drive is underway this holiday season, and volunteers collected donations at Union Station and at more than 500 other locations throughout Cook County on Thursday.

They handed out bags to rail commuters Wednesday night. Those same individuals brought them back Thursday morning, full of nutritious, non-perishable items for food-insecure individuals living in the greater Chicago area.

Those in need do not know where their next meal is coming from or have difficulty accessing enough food to stay healthy. The food depository wants to change that, and many people are determined to help out.

The food drive ends December 31. If you are in a position to do so, make a donation or a small monetary contribution at a location near you!
