Shopping for Thanksgivukkah

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

We're here at the Fairway Market on the Upper East Side. You can see it's very busy for two reasons: Many here are shopping for Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. These two holidays haven't converged like this in decades.

With Thanksgiving and Hanukkah (a.k.a. "Thanksgivukkah") overlapping, a lot of New Yorkers are changing it up by celebrating both in many different ways. Many New Yorkers tell us they're excited to combine the holidays.

Whether you have blue or orange cookies, shopper Lisa Lampell says the most important aspect of any holiday is to have your family happy and healthy. You can also celebrate with decorations like they did here by using the color blue.

According to one Jewish scholar, these two holidays won't converge like this for another 70,000 years.
