The games athletes play have different significance for different people.

The National Football League faced a tough dilemma on this weekend 50 years ago -- whether to play the regularly scheduled games or to cancel them.

For the Philadelphia Eagles, playing that game against the Washington Redskins two days after John F. Kennedy's assassination took on a whole new meaning.

One member of the Eagles front office remembers that weekend in 1963. FOX 29's Howard Eskin has his story.
