A winter storm warning remains in effect for all of North Texas from Sunday through Monday morning.
It appears that there will be two rounds of wintry weather possible. The first, on Sunday morning, is not expected to be a major event. It will begin to our west and move across the Metroplex during the afternoon hours. It will probably begin as rain and then turn over to sleet during the late afternoon hours.
The second round will be more dramatic. This one will begin during the evening hours and will probably be all sleet as of right now. Bridges and overpasses could become a problem during the late evening, late nighttime hours and early Monday morning hours. Driving could be tricky as temperatures remain around 30-32 degrees. Accumulations of sleet, as of now, could be between ½" to 1".
There is still a lot of uncertainty with this system. But I'm concerned about the overnight hours on Sunday night and Monday morning.
By Tuesday it should warm up enough to be all rain. Stay with FOX ... we'll keep you 4Warned.
