CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Funeral plans have been announced for a Charleston police officer killed in an off-duty motorcycle wreck.

WCBD-TV reports that funeral services for Sergeant Tony Person Jr. are scheduled for Tuesday at Mount Ephraim Baptist Church in Atlanta.

Visitation is Monday night at Gus Thornhill Funeral Home in East Point, Ga.

Police say Person was off-duty and was driving a motorcycle in North Charleston at around 1 a.m. Nov. 16 when an SUV pulled out into his path. Authorities say Person swerved but hit the SUV. He was also hit by a second vehicle.

The Dorchester County Coroner's Office says Person was pronounced dead at the scene. Charleston police say he had been an officer for 13 years.
