Suspect accused of leading authorities on high-speed chase arrested

Posted: Updated:

An Ellis County man who is accused of leading deputies on a rush-hour chase down I-35 Tuesday night faces charges.

Charles Ziebolz, 22, has been charged with evading arrest, interfering with an emergency call, and possession of marijuana (less than two ounces).

Arrest records show that on Nov. 22, he was charged with DWI and possession of marijuana.

Investigators say the chase started as some sort of domestic dispute, and by time deputies arrived, Ziebolz had taken off.

After leading them up and down I-35 near the Dallas-Ellis County line, the suspect got off the freeway, trying to lose deputies on back roads and turning his headlights on and off.

The chase came to a stop in rural Waxahachie.
