Three man face drug charges after Denton Police say they were acting suspicious in the parking lot of a pharmacy Wednesday.
Christopher Williams, Christopher Blanton, and James Wooden have all been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a criminal instrument.
A Denton Police officer heard on a radio broadcast that there had been recent burglaries at nearby pharmacies, and he decided to check for suspicious activity at the Walgreens on Teasley Lane.
When he arrived in the parking lot, he saw a car with its lights off. A person next to that car dived into the vehicle upon seeing the officer, shutting the door. Another person ducked his head inside the car to avoid being seen.
The officer spoke with the suspects, and as they got out of the car they were in, the officer saw a pair of bolt cutters and a ski mask.
The suspects said that they were visiting some girls in the area, and that they had been on the highway, had car trouble and pulled in to the Walgreens parking lot.
The officer found the story suspicious, as the Walgreen's is about three miles from the highway.
A trash bag filled with bottled with hydrocodone pills were found on the car's back floor, along with a glass bottle of codeine, a receipt from a Southlake Walgreens and multiple pairs of gloves and masks.
The incident is still being investigated.
