MARIETTA, Ga. -
Over 11,000 folks came out to do a little pre-emptive damage control for their Thanksgiving feasts on Thursday all for a good cause.
The annual Gobble Jog Road Race on the Marietta Square touts itself as America's 7th largest Thanksgiving race. In addition to the runners and walkers, over 200 volunteers participate in the early morning workout.
Officials from the Guinness Record were in attendance to see if the event breaks a record Thursday morning.
The event benefits MUST Ministries. It is expected to pull in $425,000 which it will used to continue its missions.
Later in the day, they will feed over 200 people a Thanksgiving dinner.
