Hometown Hero: Angels of Corsicana

Posted: Updated:

Jean O'Connor had a lot of family in the U. S. military. She'd sent them care packages, and that's how she got the idea 10 years ago to start Angels of Corsicana Troop Support.

Every month, the group sends care packages to North Texas troops serving around the world.

Christmas is a really big push with Christmas cards, candy, toiletries, snacks, crew socks and more. The Christmas stockings are homemade, and that extra touch means the world to military men and women thousands of miles from home.

Angels of Corsicana will make its big shipment Saturday, Dec. 7 to insure troops in the Middle East, Africa and Asia get their goodies before Christmas.

They can still use donations to help more military men and women know that they are being remembered while they serve. Fabric to make stockings and pillows would be especially appreciated.

If you'd like to help Angels of Corsicana at Christmas, or anytime of the year, call 903-851-2560, or go to 1020 N. Business 45 in Corsicana.

Merry Christmas, Troops!
