2 Sought In Washington Square Beating Caught On Video

PHILADELPHIA -

Police are seeking the public's help to identify two suspects wanted in connection with a beating and robbery caught on video in Washington Square.

A 36-year-old man was walking on the 200 block of South Camac Street back on Nov. 10 at 2 a.m. when he appeared to be having a verbal argument, police say.

That's when the video shows one suspect punching the victim from behind, knocking him to the ground.

The second suspect then went over to the injured victim and continued to punch him in the face several times while police say he was unconscious.

That suspect took the victim's wallet, cell phone and gold with diamond necklace, then ran off in an unknown direction.

Both suspects were described as white males. No approximate ages were given. The first was wearing a red, white and blue coat, dark-colored pants and shoes and holding a flashlight. The second suspect had short hair and wore glasses, a dark-colored dress coat, blue jeans and brown shoes.

If you see these suspects, police say do not approach them; call 9-1-1 immediately. To submit a tip, call 215-686-TIPS (8477), text to PPD TIP (773847), or use this electronic form to do so anonymously.
