All-clear at Collin County Courthouse after bomb threat

Posted: Updated:

The Collin County Courthouse was evacuated for nearly three hours Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat.

All personnel were asked to leave the building in the 2100 block of Ferndale Road in McKinney until the Plano police bomb squad could make a sweep.

The threat was reportedly made by phone to McKinney police. They released part of the 911 call that led to the evacuation.

"Yes. You need to let someone know that there are two bombs placed at the Collin County Courthouse. If all courts are not canceled today, one will go off on the outside and one will go off on the inside. People will die today," the caller said.

No arrests have been made, but police believe they know who made the threat.

An all-clear was given about 12 p.m. and people allowed to return.
