New Product Attaches iPad To Baby Seat

Posted: Updated:

Many parents use the iPad to entertain their children. Now, life could just get easier. A new product available is a baby seat with a built-in iPad.

The new product, called "Newborn-to-Toddler Apptivity Seat for iPad" is by Fisher Price.

However, some child psychologists say that it's not a good idea.

They argue that children need human interaction at a young age and more interaction with objects for brain development. Child psychologists also are worried that some parents will use this seat as a babysitter and expose their kids to the screen for hours.

The company says that it made the device for those times when parents want to use this visual display option as another way to stimulate and engage their baby.

On Amazon, there is a lot of criticism of the product from parents.

Hope Moffatt writes:

I am disgusted with Fisher Price and urge Amazon to reconsider carrying this terrible contraption!! First of all children need to be able to move and putting them on the floor (on rugs or mats) is the best way they can freely move and explore their world. Secondly, the American Pediatric Association recommends NO SCREEN TIME for babies under 2."

Graham writes, "Haven't these people watched ‘A Clockwork Orange' or ‘The Matrix' or even ‘Wall-E' for crying out loud?"

However, one parent gave this product some credit. Kenny wrote, "Obviously most of you do not have special needs children. This is a wonderful product!"

Hannah Bushey agrees, "This product would be incredibly beneficial to parents of special needs children, like my son.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
