Glenside Man Kidnapped In His Own Car

GLENSIDE, Pa. -

Early Saturday morning, Cheltenham Police responded to a kidnapping alert at the 400 block of West Waverly RD.  At the scene, police learned a 27 year old male was taken outside of his home around 2:53am. The victim was approached by five males, assaulted, and thrown in the back seat of his own 2006 white Infiniti. The suspects took control of the victim's vehicle and drove away with him in the back seat.

The victim's friend received a phone call at 4:16am from one of the suspects demanding $50,000 for the safe return of the victim. His friend contacted the police. He subsequently received 8-10 more phone calls from the suspects demanding that the friend turn over money.        

The victim then called his friend at 7:55am stating that he was released at the intersection of Sycamore Ave and Juniper Ave in Cheltenham Township.  The victim suffered multiple facial injuries from the attack. He was transports to Abington Hospital for treatment.

The victim's 2006 white Infiniti with PA registration HTZ-7098 is still missing.
