Santa Visits Foster Children

Posted: Updated:

Santa Claus stopped by Champions Gate Friday night to make sure these little elfs have a Merry Christmas. These children that are waiting to be adopted were thrilled to score gifts and have a blast.

Santa's helper for this bash is Winston Lee of Volusia County.  When his big day got canceled he decided to throw a big bash for the children.  He calls this celebration the "Winter Wonderland, a Night of Hope and Wonderment."

Lee says "it feels so wonderful to see the looks on their faces. It feels greats."

70 children in the central Florida foster care system got to see Santa Claus and have fun thanks to Mr. Lee.  And now they are saying thank you to him.

14 year old Christian Whitworth says merry Christmas to the host of this festive event.  He will be adopted next month after waiting five years for a family.

Mos says  "I am looking forward to having a mom and dad and to spending time with them. "

Jennifer downs adopted little Jaxon last month.  She's impressed with Winston's decision to help the foster children and says we should all do the same.

Downs says "if you can adopt it's great, they are all a bundle of joy."

Lee says "the children are our future and we must take care of them."
