Police investigating unexplained deaths to see if they're weather-related

Posted: Updated:

Dallas Police are looking into two recent deaths to determine whether or not they are weather-related.

They say they responded to a call in the 8500 block of Lakemont Drive, where they found a 75-year-old woman dead.

A neighbor told police that the victim had slipped and fallen on ice earlier in the day. The neighbor helped the woman back inside her home, but the neighbor went home after the woman said that she was OK. When the neighbor checked on her later around 4 p.m., she was found unresponsive.

An autopsy is pending.

Officers were also called to the 2500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, where they came across an unidentified homeless woman about 45 to 55 years old. They believe she died from being exposed to the winter elements, and she did not show signs of trauma.

An autopsy for that victim is also pending.

Police consider both deaths unexplained at this time.
