Michael Henderson: "obviously we're worried. He hasn't had any food. Nothing to drink in 5 hours. He was just left on the bus."
Michael Henderson says his 32-year old nephew Barry Mcnabb , who is autistic and can't talk, was five hours late to his program today at the "Arc of Camden County." Henderson says Mcnabb was just dropped off in the parking lot when he arrived
Michael Henderson. "When he walked in there at 1 o'clock they didn't see an escort. They were like whoa....what happened?"
The director of the program he says subsequently called him and Mcnabb was rushed to our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Henderson says he soon learned his nephew sat buckled in his seat sleeping in the back of the bus all morning while the driver picked up and dropped off passengers.
Michael Henderson: "If she had walked the bus at the stop she would have seen him and got him off there."
The bus company Senhan Transit is managed by senior citizens united community services. Stephen Considine the CEO offered us this statement:
"The client was with the driver during the entire time as she was making her other passenger pickups. We regret that the incident occurred and the agency will continue its investigation into the matter. We will implement additional training and review policies and procedures to ensure the continued safety of our clients."
Mcnabb's family says changes in policy and procedures can't come soon enough because this ordeal could have ended a lot worse.
Roney Perez: "isn't there a checklist to see whose coming on and off the bus? I don't understand this."
