Dog tags on display in Texas Vietnam Heroes exhibit

ADDISON, Texas -

The Cavanaugh Flight Museum at Addison Airport will honor the Texans who died or are still missing in action in Vietnam.

The Texas Vietnam Heroes exhibit is filled with simple hanging dog tags.

"We wanted it to be something also that was interactive so that the public could also touch it and feel a part of it. And we wanted it to move. It's more about life than death and we want to honor their lives," said Don Dorsey, the Vietnam veteran who helped create it.

Dorsey said each dog tag represents the story of a hero's life and death.

"As I was doing them I would look at their age and their rank, their branch of service and I would have to question as to how they might have died," he said.

The exhibit runs until Jan. 21. For more information, visit www.buildthemonument.org.
