The U.S. Marshals Service says $9.2 million in restitution will soon be available to the city of Dixon in the $54 million Rita Crundwell case.

Marshals said Thursday that they transferred the money last week to the U.S. District Court in Northern Illinois. The court will issue the money to the city.

Crundwell was the northern Illinois town's long-time bookkeeper. She pleaded guilty to stealing the money from the city and is serving nearly 20 years in prison.

Marshals raised the restitution funds by selling Crundwell's belongings. That includes bank accounts, properties, a luxury motorhome, more than 400 horses and jewelry.

Dixon also is recouping about $40 million in the Crundwell case from a legal settlement with a bank and auditor.
