Amber Alert over; child found safe, suspect arrested

Posted: Updated:

North Richland Hills police found a 5-year-old boy after he was abducted by his mother Friday morning.

The child and woman were located about an hour later after the Amber Alert was issued.

Police said 30-year-old Jennifer Lynne Echeverria took Jagger Curry from his grandmother's home. Echeverria is Jagger's mother, but she is only supposed to see him while supervised.

Echeverria allegedly showed up at the house in the 9200 block of Glen Haven Court and threatened those inside with a knife. She stole a Lexus SUV and left with the Jagger, police said.

Police found the vehicle parked on a residential street in Haltom City. They found the pair walking in the neighborhood and took them into custody without incident.

Jagger was questioned and reunited with his grandmother.

Echeverria was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Additional charges are expected.

She is being held in the North Richland Hills jail on a $250,000 bond.
