Texas Rangers reportedly ink deal with Shin-Soo Choo

Posted: Updated:

Free-agent outfielder Shin-Soo Choo will wear a Texas Rangers uniform for the next seven years, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

The Rangers have reportedly agreed to a seven-year deal with the outfielder. FOX Sports 1 Insider Jon Paul Morosi reported Choo will earn $130 million.

The deal would be a boon for the Rangers, who are looking to improve their outfield play and get another quality bat in the lineup. Choo could hit leadoff for Texas.

Texas beat out the New York Yankees for Choo's services. Choo reportedly turned down an offer from the Yankees earlier this week.

Choo, 31, will return to the American League after spending 2013 with the Cincinnati Reds. He previously played for Seattle and Cleveland.

Choo had 21 homers, 54 RBIs and 20 stolen bases for Cincinnati in 2012.
