Soldier Surprise Homecoming in Frisco

Posted: Updated:

It was a typical holiday scene, children lined up  at the Stone Briar Mall in Frisco today to make a pitch to Santa, however, it wasn't just Santa who was behind this Christmas miracle.  Lots of people were planning to make sure that 3 year old June and her baby brother Lucas would have an unforgettable Christmas.

Along the way the people who thought they were in on the whole thing ended up surprised themselves. Srgt Thomas James Black showed up to surprise his daughter June and finally meet his son Lucas – but Srgt Black had his own surprise.

His wife, Cynthia who was planning the homecoming surprise for her kids didn't realize that her sister in law made her own plans.  Tiffany Lindeman flew in from San Diego just for the day to make this Christmas unforgettable for her brother - she also got family and friends to show up as well!

Twelve years of service and five deployments, Srgt Black finally gets to be home with the family and get to know his newborn son.  In the midst of all the commotion, a Vietnam war vet was watching the reunion.  He went up to Srgt Black and told him about his own homecoming and what it was like to meet his son for the first time back in 1966.

Amid all the interviews, pictures and hugs, the three year old June kept an iron clad grip on her dad.
