Seven injured after minivan causes accident involving DART bus

Posted: Updated:

Seven people were hurt Monday morning when a minivan triggered a multiple vehicle accident that included a DART bus.

A DART spokesman said the bus was traveling northbound on Interstate 35 near 8th Street in Dallas when a Dodge Caravan minivan swerved and crossed all lanes of I-35E.

The minivan hit a retaining wall and bounced back across the highway, which caused three other vehicles and a DART bus to swerve to avoid the minivan.

Four DART passengers were transported from the scene with non-life threatening injuries. Three people from the minivan were also transported to the hospital, including a child. All seven were released by midday Monday.

Investigators have not determined what caused the minivan to swerve across the entire highway.
