Christmas Eve services bring filled churches across North Texas

Posted: Updated:

While a few people picked up last-minute presents Tuesday night, a lot of North Texans spent the evening with family and friends for a much different tradition than last-minute shopping.

Hundreds of worshippers filled churches around North Texas for multiple Christmas Eve services.

At St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Dallas, some services were standing-room only. Scores of people went to the church but couldn't get in.

A Christmas Eve service had real animals in the nativity scene at the New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church in Dallas.

Mary and Joseph were surrounded by llamas, donkeys and sheep.

The church is celebrating its 10th anniversary, so it wanted to make the important night come to life.
