SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -

Police say the Atlanta man shot on Christmas Day by a gunman holding a baby in his arms in Sandy Springs has died.

A spokesperson for the Sandy Springs Police Department tells FOX 5 News that 25-year-old Demetrius Dunn was arrested for allegedly shooting 24-year-old Gregory Parsons to death. It happened at the Parc at Dunwoody apartments located in the 1000 block of Brentwood Way around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Parsons suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach and was rushed to North Fulton Hospital where he later died.

Police say the shooting started as a dispute over borrowed money. They say Dunn was holding his 2-year-old daughter at the time of the shooting.

Dunn remains in the Fulton County Jail.
