Fort Worth firefighters pull woman from burning home

Posted: Updated:

Fort Worth fire crews returning from a different call wound up rescuing an elderly woman from a house fire on Thursday.

Firefighters said they saw smoke coming from a home on E. Maddox Avenue on Thursday morning and stopped to help.

They pulled the woman from the home and performed CPR on her. She was then taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Investigators blame the fire on flammable materials being stored too close to a space heater.
