CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Three people were killed and two others were wounded in shootings across Chicago between Thursday evening and early Friday.

Most recently, police found a male shot to death in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 3:50 a.m. Friday, officers found the male – whose age was not immediately known – shot to death in the 5900 block of West Midway Park. He was dead at the scene, police said.

Thursday night, a 27-year-old man was killed while walking with his girlfriend in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

About 8:15 p.m. Thursday, two unknown suspects walked up to Dennis Glover and his girlfriend in the 700 block of South Kilbourn Avenue and shot him multiple times in the chest, police said. Glover was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

At the same time, a 50-year-old man was killed in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

Two men knocked on the door of a residence about 8:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Central Park Avenue looking for a girl inside, police said.

Elijah Johnson answered the door and got into a physical struggle when the two suspects tried to force their way inside, according to police and the medical examiner's office.

Police said one of the suspects then shot Johnson in the chest before they fled the scene on foot.

The most recent non-fatal shooting occurred about 11:15 p.m. Thursday in the 3500 block of South California.

A 24-year-old man was in the passenger seat of a vehicle driving north on California when another vehicle pulled up alongside and someone inside opened fire, police said. The man suffered a graze wound and was driven to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn where he was treated and later released.

About 3 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in the 7700 block of South Green Street in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, police said. The boy was shot in the hand and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in "stable" condition.

No one is in custody as area detectives investigated.
