Man barricaded in apartment surrenders to Arlington police

Posted: Updated:

A suspect who fired a shotgun at Arlington police Saturday evening and then barricaded himself in an apartment surrendered after a five hour standoff with officers.  No one was injured in the standoff.

At 7:10 Saturday evening, a disturbance call was reported and minutes later Arlington police and SWAT were on the scene of the Running Brook Apartments on Little Brook Ln.

Two men had an argument possibly over a woman and one of the men pulled a gun. Shots were fired.

The suspect had been communicating with the command post but refused to leave the apartment.

The standoff eventually ended around midnight.
