One dead in Arlington apartment fire

Posted: Updated:

One person died early Monday in an Arlington apartment fire.

The fire started after midnight at the Cimarron Crossing Apartments in the 2000 block of Remington Drive.

Arlington fire officials believe the fire started in the unit where the man was found dead, but an official cause has not yet been determined.

The fire eventually spread into the attic and the roof, with eight units in total destroyed in part due to a roof collapse.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation and the Red Cross is helping those displaced by the fire.
