The victim of a Dec. 30 shooting in Northeast Dallas believes a split-second decision saved his life.
Chris Hagan said he was in the parking lot of the Sedona Ridge Apartments just before midnight on Dec. 30 when he was shot by two men trying to rob him.
Hagan said he had just put his children inside of a friend's apartment and was going to grab something out of his car when the men cornered him.
"I saw the gun pointed at my face and I looked at the guy that was holding it and I could just tell they weren't hiding their faces," said Hagan. "It came across me in a split second, he's about to shoot me in the face and I just grabbed it. I figured if I'm going to stand here and get shot I'm going to at least try something. I'm not going to just stand here."
Hagan said the other man shot him after he grabbed the gun, but he was able to make it into his apartment to call for help.
Officers found and arrested two suspects in the shooting a few blocks away, but they're still looking for a third robber.
Police believe those three suspects were also involved in a robbery in the oak cliff area that happened earlier that night.
Hagan is currently recovering from his wounds at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
