The flu outbreak is growing and so is demand for vaccine, according to officials. Dallas County is now reporting eight deaths due to the flu, and another nine additional suspected flu deaths.
The waiting room at the Dallas County Health Department was packed Friday with parents and children getting flu shots before kids go back to school next week.
Dallas County received 2,000 additional doses on Friday and said it has been able to keep up with demand.
Children's Medical Center said it is at Code Yellow and seeing a surge in patients. The hospital has called in off-duty doctors and set up another treatment area to handle the crowds.
Tarrant County does not have an exact number of flu cases, but said the number of people testing positive has decreased slightly in the last week.
Denton County has 265 confirmed flu cases, 25 percent more than last week.
Collin County had 168 confirmed flu cases last week, but will not have updated numbers until Monday.
