SWAT standoff results in Amber Alert

Posted: Updated:
HUMBLE, Texas -

Representatives from the Harris County Sheriff's Office tell us that two children who spurred an amber alert have been located with relatives and their father is in  custody.

This evening, Texas Center for the Missing issued a Houston Regional Amber Alert  for two missing girls.

Two year-old Faith Adams  and 4 year-old Heidi Adams were taken by their biological father, Charles D. Adams after he assaulted their mother around 7p.m. Friday from the north side of Harris County.

The children's mother ran to a neighbor's home and contacted authorities who later surrounded the home.

SWAT officers were dispatched to the scene and evacuated neighbors from their homes as a precaution.

Officers made entry into the home, but Adams and the children were nowhere to be found.

Around 10 p.m. Friday, the children's father was taken into custody at a relative's residence and the children were revealed to be with their grandparents in Huffman.
