The head of the Dallas Police Association says the firing of an officer who shot an unarmed man has left other officers questioning when to use deadly force.
Ron Pinkston sent a letter to the interim city manager, questioning the management style of Chief David Brown.
In the letter, Pinkston says the firing of Senior Cpl. Amy Wilburn had "a chilling effect on the safety of the citizens of Dallas and of all Dallas police officers."
He says officers no longer know when to use deadly force, and if they do, they fear being fired because they did so.
Pinkston says this uncertainty "creates doubt and hesitation in an officer about when/if to use deadly force which ultimately is going to result in an officer and or citizen getting killed."
