West Dallas trash fire keeps firefighters occupied for hours

Posted: Updated:

Dallas firefighters spent Saturday morning monitoring what was left of a trash fire that burned for several hours. Hot spots lasted for several hours after the fire was under control.

Just after midnight they received a call about trash burning in an industrial area in west Dallas. When firefighters arrived they found flames shooting from a large pile of trash.

It did not spread to any of the nearby businesses or homes, but extra fire trucks were called to the scene as a precaution.

Power had to be shut off to businesses and homes on Quarry Street and nearby Quincy Street.
