Driving dangerous, crews out during storm

The snow was still coming down hard Sunday night making a mess on the roads and creating hazardous conditions for drivers.

Snow plows and salt trucks are working overtime across Metro Detroit and whether it's Macomb, Wayne, or Oakland County the game plan is the same. Walter Mersino with the Oakland County Road Commission says drivers have been working around the clock for the past week to make sure roads are safe. They have about 15,000 tons of salt on hand, Macomb County has about 35,000, Wayne County has more than 100,000.

The message to drivers is to take it slow if you have to venture out and to keep a safe distance between your car and other vehicles, including snow plows. With wind chills in the single digits there will also be ice on the roads.
