15 families are displaced after a Sunday morning fire destroyed an entire apartment building in Cedar Hill. Everyone made it out safely at the Wilson Crossing Apartments, but firefighters were on scene for hours trying to put out hotspots. Cedar Hill officials say it's one of the largest fires the city has seen in a while, with nearly 500,000 gallons of water used to fight the blaze.
"It was a tough fire," says City Spokesman, Corky Brown. "The elements didn't help, it's been cold. It's been tough on our crews; we had to rotate crews because of the cold."
Fire marshals on scene say the cause is still under investigation. The victims are getting help from the Red Cross.
The apartment complex is also trying to find places for the residents who are displaced to stay.
