An 18-wheeler crash shut down part of Interstate 35 in Carrollton Tuesday morning.
It happened just before 2 a.m. near the Whitlock Lane intersection. A vehicle traveling northbound was rear-ended by a truck carrying a load of utility poles.
The 18-wheeler hit the concrete embankment and overturned, spilling diesel fuel onto the freeway. It also spilled its load of utility poles.
Traffic was shut down in both directions for cleanup. Three southbound lanes were reopened before 7 a.m., but the southbound HOV lane and northbound lanes were expected to be closed until noon.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
