Dallas Police officer arrested for family violence

Posted: Updated:

A Dallas Police officer was arrested Wednesday by Duncanville officers for assault - family violence, police say.

Senior Cpl. Carlos Alicea was arrested, and as a result, he has been placed on administrative leave.

Alicea is assigned to the Northwest Patrol Division, and has been with the Dallas Police Department for 12 years.

An investigation will be launched by the department's internal affairs division.

This isn't the first time a DPD officer has been arrested on a domestic violence charge. In December, an officer was charged with family assault violence, while another was issued a family violence citation.
