Several businesses were heavily damaged in an early morning fire in Fort Worth.

The fire started just before 1 a.m. in a Metro Insurance office in a shopping center on South Freeway, south of Interstate 20.

The smoke and flames then spread to surrounding businesses, including a day care center and convenience store.

No one was hurt.

Investigators believe the cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction.
