NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

If you still haven't tossed out your dry, dead fire hazard of a Christmas tree, you can bring it to the city's MulchFest 2014 this weekend. The city has dozens of chipping sites and drop-off sites where you can bring your tree to be turned into mulch.

When you drop off your tree at a chipping site you will also get a bag of mulch you can use in your own backyard, garden, or in flower pots.

Drop-off sites do not give out bags of mulch.

The Parks Department uses mulch to nourish plantings, parks, and those greenstreets plant beds across the city.

MulchFest is taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, January 11 and 12.

Before bringing in your tree, you must remove all lights, ornaments, and tinsel.

A dance party for kids and tweens looks like a rave or perhaps a wild night at the club. But actually, many of the people at this party probably just learned how to tie their shoes. Twin brothers Tyler and Tristin recently had a FUZIPOP party in Manhattan to celebrate their 10th birthday. Never heard of a FUZIPOP party?

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and the federal prosecutor investigating political payback allegations involving the Republican's administration are both set to speak at a prisoner re-entry conference on Thursday.
Former NBA player Jayson Williams says trying to re-enter society after serving time for shooting a limousine driver was more difficult than being in prison.
