Will 'American Idol' finale be in New York?

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Since "American Idol" started, the season finale has always been in Los Angeles. But that may change. There are reports this year's finale may be held at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Jennifer Peros, a senior reporter for US Weekly, said that the Garden is the most famous arena in the world, so it makes sense.

And "Idol" fans we talked to agree a Big Apple finale would be a perfect season ending.

"Idol" is revamping things this year with new hosts: Jennifer Lopez has returned, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban.

Plus, the Garden just went through a massive renovation.

As for the reports, neither Fox Entertainment nor the Garden had any comment.

But it still got me thinking: What if I auditioned this year? I work in New York City, so just imagine if I made it to the finale. Best to start getting ready now. So I started working on my set list.

Or maybe I'll just stick to my day job.
