Elderly man missing from West Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 74-year-old man with memory loss went missing from the West Side Thursday morning while driving to pick up his medicine.

George Hurst, 74, was last seen leaving his home in the 1400 block of South Hamlin Avenue about 11 a.m. Thursday, police said. He was driving to pick up his medicine from a Jewel-Osco at the intersection of West Roosevelt Road and South Ashland Avenue.

Police described Hurst as a black man, about 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds. He has brown eyes, gray hair and a medium complexion, police said.

He was last seen wearing a brown striped coat, a blue cap, navy blue Dickies pants, a navy blue and striped flannel shirt and brown high-top shoes, police added.

Hurst was driving a 1996 gold-colored Plymouth sedan at the time he went missing, police said.
