A Dallas police officer was rushed to the hospital following a crash on I-35 E early Sunday morning.
The wreck happened in the southbound lanes near Highway 67 around 3:00 a.m.
Before that, two pickup trucks got into an accident. When a Dallas sheriff's deputy made it to the scene, his patrol car was hit by another vehicle. The deputy was not hurt.
Then, the driver of a sports car hit a DPD squad car after that officer responded to the wrecks that had already happened.
The officer was rushed to a nearby hospital. He is expected to be okay.
According to authorities on the scene, both the driver who hit the sheriff's deputy and the driver who hit the police officer failed field sobriety tests and were taken into custody.
