Habitat for Humanity trailer with $12k worth of tools stolen

Posted: Updated:

A trailer full of tools that belonged to the North Collin County Habitat for Humanity was stolen over the weekend in McKinney.

Volunteers worked all day Saturday to put up the frame of a home in the 1200 block of Standifer Road and went home for the night, locking up the trailer in the driveway.

A volunteer came back Sunday morning and was shocked to find the trailer gone.

Habitat for Humanity said it has filed a police report for the $12,000 worth of stolen tools.

The non-profit was building the home for a mom and her two girls. The to-be homeowner found out on Facebook about the theft on Monday morning.

"I was actually depressed. Still in disbelief, said Delving Duckett. "Just can't believe somebody actually did it."

Volunteers plan to bring their own tools to continue the job if the trailer cannot be located.
