Posted: Updated:

A Frisco middle schooler with one hand beat out some tough competition to win a trip to this year's Super Bowl.

Tyler Sampson is a winner in the NFL's Together We Make Football contest, and the announcement took his whole family by surprise.

Sampson, who plays football, won three tickets and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Super Bowl as one of five winners in an online voting contest.

Sampson's story, the video he submitted for the contest, highlighted his determination to play football despite being born with the lower part of his right arm missing. The video has inspired millions, including his parents.

Sampson, his dad and his twin brother will fly out the Wednesday before the Super Bowl. His mom will fly out too, though she may not get a ticket to the game.

Sampson also plays baseball as a pitcher and recently made his select team.
