A crash left some people in east Dallas without power Tuesday morning.
It happened at about 3:45 a.m. near the intersection of Fitzhugh Avenue and the Central Expressway.
The driver of a pickup truck lost control, rode onto the sidewalk and crashed into a utility pole with transformers.
The driver then fled on foot and remains at large.
Hazmat crews were called to the scene because the toppled transformers leaked oil down a rain gutter.
Police had to shut down traffic on northbound Fitzhugh Avenue for the cleanup.
Oncor crews were able to reroute power to most customers, but a few were still in the dark when they woke up.
